If you go the oak route I highly suggest getting a couple of gallons of linseed oil and when you have the deck installed soak it liberally several times before the 1st piece of iron goes on it. Best if you can soak it and let it sit in the sun for a few days. Linseed oil does wonder on raw oak decking to increase it's lifespan.
