I wouldn't risk it. The tapered pin boss is machined specifically for the tapered rod's pin retention. With a straight rod, that pin has nothing to lock into, it'll walk and destroy the cylinder. You need the correct straight-rod piston. Try aftermarket suppliers like Reliance or KMP, or hunt down NOS. Don't mix the two.
