I drove my truck sunday it drove good we've had 2 cold days i went to the yard to crank the truck today(wednesday) and the engine protection light stayed on and after about a minute or 2 the engine protect light started blinking and the truck shut off and every time i start it back up it does the same thing i thought i saw a code L 1. 1 has anyone else experienced this the motor is a mercedes benz
Most if not all solid engine lights mean check soon but OK to run. A flashing warning light normally means to shut the machine down now or serious damage will result. Sounds to me like the engine is telling you to start checking whats wrong before you ruin it. Better take the blinking warning lights advice.
We have a Sterling also and had a similar problem last year. Tried to get dealer to come out and look at it but as they were too busy service manager said to make sure all fluids were full. After taking a closer look at the coolant level that was half way up in the tank noticed that the level sensor is also right there in the center! A couple quarts of cooant and problem was gone! Not sure why they could not have programmed the dash read out to just say "Low Coolant" instead of some random looking code :Banghead Actually I think I know, more money for dealerships!:bash
Definatly sounds like low coolant, but if not keep messing with the RESET button on the instrument panel until you get a better code and let us know
