Hello, are there more people with fuel pump problems of a Perkins engine type 1106D-E66TA. The problem is that with 2 engines with 2000 and 3000 hours the high pressure pump common rail is worn. Now the complete fuel system had to be replaced. We use the original perkins fuel filters, are there more people who have problems please let me know.
Check out the thread about jd 6068L EGR. I ended up replacing the fuel system on this engine. The conclusion was a lack of lubrication in the ULSD led to premature failure of the fuel system. We are now running fuel addative, but only time will tell if this will eliminate the problem. The amount of pressure required to in a common rail fuel system may also wear out the high press fuel pump.
what did it do send metalic into the injectors and stop them up? because only time i ever seen that happen was on a 5 cyl. kubota and thats because the injectors are so small, that they couldnt pass the metalics off of the worn plungers(previously rebuilt the inj.pump but still would not start.pulled injectors and put em on my pop tester and could not pump dsl through them cause they were so stopped up.So all i did was took em apart and back flushed them till i backed the metalic out backwards.then using the same nozzle tips assembled them and they worked great and cranked right up,so the moral is every thing usally dont go bad at the sametime!
