I have an 1150H and the left track keeps cutting out under power. Been all thru the trans everything looks good there, but the left brake has twice the wear as the right. I am kind of stumped on trouble shooting this one. Any help would be appreciated.
Do you have hi low shifter for the tracks between your legs ?
No the H has them in front of your left arm rest.
Hi, We just had a similar problem on a 455C crawler loader that we just bought with 3,200 hours - the one side was sluggish and it appeared that the brake was not fully releasing on that side. The machine had been used very little over the past few years and it sat outside the last year. So, our dealer suggested that we change the slave cylinders on the brakes which my brother did but there was no difference in performance. Our dealer then told us that the brake assemblies would need to be removed and inspected. In thinking about it further, my brother noticed that when he backed off the adjusting bolts to change the slave cylinders, the brake shaft on the good side was rotating freely in the housing (the external spring would pull the lever down) but the shaft on the other side was not rotating freely. So, before pulling the brakes, he thought he would see if it was possible that the shaft was seized / tight in the housing. The short of the story is that he fabricated a tool so he could rock the shaft back and forth and with a bit of penetrating oil and patience, the shaft started moving freely as the other side did. We then put the machine up on blocks, set the brakes to spec and the machine was working perfectly - low, hi, turning, etc. No drag and no delay. Took it outside and tested it with the same results. I assume the brake set up on the 1150 is the same and that the problem you are describing is the same - much easier to free up the shaft than pulling the brakes. Good luck!
Welcome to HEF Brandon1986! I would be having a close look at the brake pedal linkages, especially the ones that go to the transmission control valve. Are the brake pedal return springs in working order? Is the pedal fully raised when at rest? The neutralizers in the transmission control valve can also give some trouble as the small springs in the valves can lose their tension. I did have an H once give all sorts of hesitation & drive trouble due to this. Were the teflon oil control rings on the transmission shaft ends looked at or replaced?
