just purchased this 1972 Grove TD155, but I cannot find a manual or anything on it really. what am i missing ?

Grove might be able to get you PDF versions of the manuals, but I've never tried for one that old. Ebay is going to be your best bet. the 155 and 180's are about the same machine. There's parts and service manuals available, but most of your repair work will be hoses and sealing cylinders. You won't need much from grove, its all standard stuff. Anything you had to get from grove, grove probably won't have. Its old.
