1988 580k dipper

Anyone have any idea where i could get a new piece for my extendable dipper. I can't find any info on what they actually call the part. It is made out of ductile iron and bolted on the very end of the extendable dipper with 6 7/8 diam. bolts. These bolts loosened up and broke the 2 eye lits up inside that the hydraulic ram hooks to. I doubt if they would hold if they were welded. I would like to find a used one if possible because i'm sure they are not cheap. Thanks for any help. Dave

I am not a backhoe expert, but I would guess a heavy equipment salvage yard would have one or could find you one. This is one, but there are many others out there.

Go right down the road from you to Newark Valley. See Fred at Goodrich Aution Service. He deal with used parts for equipment. The place is just south of town on Rt38.

Case solved this problem a few years ago with a weld on piece. The old ductile one with the bolts always broke. The bolts would come loose and break the eyelet. Then they had you drill the bolt holes out and put in bigger bolts with loctite which did not solve the problem The last upgrade was to a steel piece, you tapped the holes out good enough to hold it snug on the stick then welded the cap on. The idea of the bolt on cap was suppose to be easy access to the extendahoe cylinder. Not any harder to take the whole slider off than it was to unbolt the cap.

Thanks for all the info guys ! Gotta love this website! Tried to find a used one and no luck. Thinking of making a 3/4 plate with eyes and sandwiching in with 3/4 longer bolts.
