i have a 1995 komatsu pc100-6 and the monitor is out !! the monitor lights up and lights blink but none of the buttons and gauges work !! so i purchase 3 different aftermarket monitors and none of them would work when i plug them in nothing comes on , like it dont even have any power going to the monitor !! so i sent them all back ! and was wondering wat the issue is and why they dont work bc i was told its a plug and play type of deal any info would be greatly appreciated!! thank
Have you checked the fuses. You have an old machine where there may be problems on the buss bar in the fuse panel or problems with the harnesses and their connectors going to the monitor panel. The panel is also hooked into the pump and throttle control computer which could be another problem area. You can remove the operator seat and then the panels on the right side console to reveal all the components and the wiring.
yes sir i checked my fuses in fuse box , but haven check the wiring are harness going to the panel . wat would u think could be the reason why the old monitor has power going to it and lighting up and stuff but when i put a new aftermarket in it, it does nothing wont like up are anything ?
Where are you getting your aftermarket panels? You have a control panel where he buttons are and the monitor is the digital display on top. Is the problem on the old monitor that the display has turned color and can no longer show the digits or is the problem in the buttons on the control panel?
i got one from conquip parts and i cant remember the other somewhere in china . and its both the display wont show nothing and none of the buttons work the screen will kinda light up, so i know i have power going to it, but when i plug up the aftermarket it wont even light up are nothing !! but none of the buttons will function and the fella i bought it from said its in slow tracking and in low power mode !! so im trying to get the get that monitor to work are get a aftermarket one to work to change my setting modes !! are is there a way around the monitor to switch function into higher speed on tracking and in high power mode for the function of the machine bc i have temp , oil pressure, and hydraulic manual gauges in it to keep up with everything!! and yes i bought the machine with the bad monitor and the fella said the monitor was bad in it !! so thats why i was trying to go with a aftermarket monitor but i haven had any luck bc none of them would work !!
You should check carefully your machine serial number. Komatsu excavators are troublesome! The same model but different serial numbers, the spare parts are very different, and cannot be used together. Specifically here is the monitor. You see the attached picture below and you will realize that there are 2 different types of monitors. Although their appearance is similar, their connector pins are very different! I also attached their circuit so you can refer to it in more detail, more clearly. Good luck.
yes sir i see the difference now !! one aftermarket monitor i ordered i gave him the serial number off my machine and all the info and it still did the samething as the test nothing could come on !! not saying they went buy the s/ n i gave them to matched it up and just sent me one to make a easy sale . but thanks for pointing that out
i just checked the one i had from con-equip parts “that i returned bc it wouldn even come on “ and it was the same monitor that my machine has and the same S/N as my machine and i plugit in and it still doesnt come on are do anything as my old one thats not working lights up and couple lights blink but is not functional. and when i plug the new one in it does nothing like there no power going to it !! i was wondering if there a way i could change the mode settings without the monitor? by bypassing the monitor ? to put it in med track and high power ?
I've never found a way but have to admit I just figured it was easier to replace the monitor. Basically the monitor panel is a mayor component set up so that you can't work around it without plenty of thinking and tinkering time. Just when you think you have it figured out they change the panel to something else.
yes sir it gets aggravating !! it just puzzles me that i went threw 3 different monitors and none of them worked and all did the same thing and i made sure the s/n match the make and model of machine !! ill most likely have to go to our local dealer and purchase a monitor from them to have a technician to install in for me to make sure it works !! doing that it like 3500.00 and a aftermarket is like 1600.00 so i was trying to save a lip money but it looks like im have to bite the bullet !! then another mechanic told me that the aftermarket monitors might not be flash right with the model number of my machine !! but thank u for ur help most appreciate!!
