I'm looking at a used 1998 Kobelco SK 130 LC Mark IV. It started life as a Hertz rental and has had two private owners. It shows about 4,000 hours. My question is: does anyone know what factors Hertz uses to determine when to sell one of their machines? The current owner has put on 600 hr and even assuming the previous private owner put on just 400 hrs, that would indicate that Hertz sold this machine with about 3000 hours on it. Is that typical?
I think a good amount of Hertz equipment is for sale all the time. They have a extensive list of machines for sale on there website. Most stuff I have rented from hertz has been very new, most less than 5 years old with low hours.
