Gotta 2007 cummins isx and it's doing a bunch of funky stuff like the high water temp light and low oil pressure is flashing and the voltage , water temp, tach, speedo and the oil pressure gauges are maxing themselves out .... It will turn over like normal Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Oh and it's in a IH 9200i daycab Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
What kind of fault code numbers ? With the ignition switch on, hold the cruise control set switch down until the check engine light starts flashing, then count the flashes.
It is normal that the gauges sweep to max when you first turn on the key.I would first check the small wires at the battery that feed the ECM for good connections and the fuses near that connection. Also make sure the grounds are clean at batteries and ECM.
It does sweep like normal but then after the sweep they max out and stay there and there is no engine light coming on Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
check for battery power and ignition power to the ecm, I have seen bad relays cause no start issues, can tell when it happens when at key on there is no CEL on and the hour meter in the tach goes blank (in a kenworth)
Is the fuel filter full?, fuel in the tank? If it's electrical, not fuel, you need to check the computer for fault codes. Some trucks you can check for codes with the check engine light, other trucks need to have a scan tool plugged in to get them.
Mike Iam new to electronic motors, what is the cheapest way to do this. Maybe data cable and software to hook up a laptop? Cheers,Greg
The scan tool software goes for big money, it's probably cheapest to hire a mechanic to come out and plug his tool into it.
I have gotten flash codes from the engine light before but it all happened instantaneous driver walked in the shop talked for a bit then left and walked back saying his truck wouldn't start and he said it has never happened before but I did check the batteries and the corrosion is minimal Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Can you hear the electric primer pump running?
