2007 TL1055 Cat Telehandler

Hey! I have a 2007 Cat TL1055 Telehandler. The front fork tilt up down does not work. It only works when we quick move the joy stick forward and back and at the same time use the top switch to tilt the forks Cat has sent out guys and charged me crazy only to never actually get it fixed. They replaced the joy stick and checked a bunch of different things. Any ideas?

It’s more than likely a break in the wire cable that runs through the joystick shaft. It’s a common failure to that design. The rocker switch will operate a electric solenoid valve. The movement you are doing with the joystick while operating the rocker is shifting the wiring in order to make contact.

Have you checked the pressures at the manifold ? All other functions work fine ? I would start by checking voltage at the manifold solenoids for tilt function. Make sure that the joystick is in fact getting the signal to the coils. If it is then you need to put a gauge on it and see what is coming out of manifold. If your electrical side is good and the tilt works only when operating in conjunction with another function its usually a pilot pressure issue. All the pressure specs and test port locations are listed in the service manual.
