Im working on a 2011 CAT 279C Two_Speed Compact Track Loader S/N:CAT0279CLMBT02213, the machine goes into P after a few movements, specially moving forward, the arms do everything theyre supposed to do, but the moving forward makes it go into P inmmediately. The machine was bought at an auction and I noticed the L Joystick is wired wrong, the functions on the Joystick are inverted, Forward moves L, Back moves R, Left is Drive and Right is Reverse. Would you be able to provide me with the electrical schematic of this machine, and do you think this condition would cause the machine to go into Parking and can not get off of it , unless you turn off and restart the machine all over again. In looking at the forum of other people with the exact same problem, get me thinking this is a common issue with these machines , or its some kind of safety feature put in by design. Appreciate your help and any comment is greatly appreciated. Thanks
Kudos for posting a Serial Number. It makes things so much easier to look up. Can you post a photo of the panel with the warning lights/gauges up in the RH corner of the cab please. You may have one of the optional panels that allows you to look at Diagnostic Codes, which I think you may have a few. An electrical schematic is not a problem, but I think your most likely problem is that two hydraulic hoses to the left side drive motor have been installed inverted. Come to think of it fixing the hydraulic hoses on the drive motor might well fix all the rest of your problems.........
Here's an illustration of the hydrostatic arrangement of the drive motor lines for you to use as a reference.
Appreciate the help sir. Gonna go check the lines, it does look like the L Final Drive was recently replaced and the lines might be swapped out. The Reverse on the Joystick sends the Reverse Alarm, but Machine Turns Right. Thank you very much.
That tells me right there that the joystick is wired right. Go looking at the hoses…….
Hello Sir! I would like to thank you for your help in figuring out the problem with the tractor, sure enough the A and B lines were swapped and was causing all the trouble. Thank you once again and I hope this helps somebody else as well, something as simple as that causing all the trouble, which might've cause the tractor to end up at an auction. Keep on doing what you're doing, your help is greatly appreciated.
Always nice to hear a success story.
