2019 D6t blade functions quit working

swmn dirt ยท 2025-03-31 11:39

2019 d6t serial k1r00205 was using and earthworks screen had the message -ignition switch powered off- then the earthworks screen went into powerdown mode and shut off. I then went to move blade with my joystick and all blade functions do not work. It will still move and steer but all blade functions and earthworks screen are inoperable. The main dash screen does work with no codes.

When you say "earthworks screen" do this machine have a Caterpillar Accugrade system installed, or some kind of aftermarket system.? Checked any fuses yet.?

I was wrong there is codes and they all say voltage high

It has trimble earthworks gps. I have checked F 22,23,24,25 and F14,14

Is there anything else on that Code list.? I see a slide bar on the RH side of the screen indicating that more codes exist below the list of six Active Codes that appear in your photo.

Yes local gps antenna 1888-3 and cellular antenna 4682-3 were the other active codes besides the ones listed in above pic

They are on the Product Link which is not your immediate problem. Attached two procedures. The first covers the 4651-9, the second covers the other five. In the case of those five Codes my feeling is that you have a common wiring fault in the sensor power/ground side for the control handles. You'll nee an electrical schematic. sounds like you lost switched power to the Trimble system. I was working on a D6T earthworks install today for my day job. I can check install manual for your serial number they are all a little different. Trimble ties into the cat winch harness for power and can communication to cat. if you have a box on back of transmission that is where the Trimble ecm is and wiring runs under seat and up under the floor. It's hard to secure the wiring under there. wiring may have rubbed through on the Trimble side causing your issue on the cat side. there is a 12 pin Trimble y harness on right side of machine connecting to the winch harnessing. I can dig up the schematic for you if you need it your serial may be a little different for Trimble to Cat interface. Another location is under the floor.

here is the Trimble schematics and how they tie into the cat wiring. Ill have to check cat schematics to see where it's getting power exactly. Does your machine have coil cables going to the sensors?

GH-C12 Cat wire 116 at Trimble ECM is shared with Earthworks display Y-C2. thats likely your power issue to the trimble system. I would start by checking all the fuses with a meter then checking power and ground at the back of the display pin D ground and pin E switched power then pull the floor on right side check the 12 pin GH-C12 under the floor right side pin 11 switched power pin 2 ground. Is this a 3d machine and are your receivers on the roof

Thanks all found the problem it was power to the main relay that was bad. Went to clean power cable coming from under fuse box to relay and the end that connects to positive terminal under fuse box broke off terminal end. Was looking at schematic and that main relay powers all the codes that I had so originally thought main relay was bad but ended up finding that connection was rotted.
