Hi to you all. The starter motor on my 2006 Cat 247B MTL has broken and the aluminium cowl that covers the cog and protrudes into the fly wheel cover is missing. I presume this has fallen into the flywheel housing. Is there a method to find out if the broken parts are actually in the housing? Does it mean I have to take the engine out to remove the flywheel cover and retrieve the broken part? Any advice and help would be appreciated, Thanks
Borescope camera.? If the missing parts are in the housing then removing the engine is probably the only way to get at them.
