Does one exist on this machine? Or is it just the fuel filter? How does it deal with potential water in the fuel line?
From the factory there was only one fuel filter on the machine. There is supposed to be a drain valve in the bottom of the fuel tank . The operator was to drain any water/crap as required. .
Does it have the square glass box filter? that has two stages and a drain, so perfectly acceptable for any fuel you should be using. Easiest filter to see the water or dirt that I've seen. You can even take it off, hold a clean finger over the outlet, swish it around and drain the dirt out the inlet, then let some more fuel drain back into the base from the top by removing the finger from the outlet, swish and repeat, then put it back on so you can see more clearly on the bottom.
Good stuff. Thanks guys. I’ll be slipping a pail under the fuel tank tonight. Here’s hoping there’s not a ton of sludge! It’s got this filter:
Yes, that should work fine, or they wouldn't have used it for decades. #5s are your water drain and air bleed. The cover "bracket" pushes in and releases to remove for replacement or cleaning like I described. Are you having any issues, or just worried about it? A jar is nice to drain into so you can see exactly what you get. It might get interesting if nothing comes out...
I just noticed my other machines all have the shutoff with the cup and the red ring; and for the first time in forever the 310 is below half a tank of fuel, so it got me to thinking.
