317G Stalling out

BroncoEquip ยท 2022-01-04 18:12

Hello All, I'm new to the site and will be frequenting this forum often. A diesel tech by trade and education have recently been hired by a rental company. Long story short; the guy that was going to train me on the equipment quit now it is a very steep (vertical) learning curve I am faced with. The 317G starts and runs fine with one exception; when tilting the bucket to dump the RPM's drop drastically and the machine stalls and dies. All other operations work fine any help in the matter would be great. Thanks Db

Welcome to HEF Bronco ! Serial number? Any codes, active or stored? Will the boom stall the engine as well?

SN# T0317GJKJJ332354 Active: ECU 412.03 Stored: ECU 412.04, 110.00, 522329.00, 1508.00, 822.4(Coolant HighTemp/Clean Coolant) Hours: 857.8 No, it only stalls when you articulate the quick attach down. All other movements are fine. It acts like it is maxed out on movement, but only downward not up or moving the arms.

Your engine is lacking power because that active code (EGR temperature signal out of range high) will derate the engine. According to your serial number you still have emissions warranty until June of 2023. So call the dealer.

Thank you, sorry for the delayed response was out with the covid and just got back to work. Spoke with management and they state it was bought used and there is no warranty. So, it's on me to fix the problem and JD is worse than toyota when it comes to giving up information and guides.

The Deere system says you are the owner and that there is still 522 days of emissions warranty left. Unless you exceed 3000 hrs, then it is over. Did you call the dealer to see if it is covered.

I let the service writer/management know and they have decided to send it to the dealer and have it fixed and most likely traded in on something new. Appreciate the help and responses received, I am out of the loop on this piece of equipment moving forward.
