I HAVE A 318 John deer skid steer that has a very intermitten issue with parking brake. sometimes it comes on while driving or will not release from start. i suspect the lose of the 12 volts to the parking brake solenoid but cant find a bad wire and i verfied the 12 volts while sitting as much as i can with the cab up. sometime this happens and the parking light is off yet the wheels are still locked. Seat switch, safety belt and belly bar indicator are all off on the display. i omh the coil at 9 ohm per the manual. i have not checked the grounding. I have also replaced the switch on the consol. serial # 1T0318GAVNJ425746 I also forgot to mention that this problem corrects itself if you let it set sometime a few hours or sometime days. Also during the testing i did not lose the 12 volts to the coil when i pushed the parking brake swicth to the on postion until i cycled the key switch.
Welcome to HEF KH ! So the brake applies and no lights come on in the instrument cluster? When the brakes applies, scroll through the monitor to the codes section. Post any active or stored (by their numbers). Has charge pressure been checked?
We had this issue on our 333G. Ended up being a pin came loose in wiring harness plug in the roof trim/lining. Factory defect. We traced every solenoid, ohm’d the coils, etc. Ours was at a dead standstill though, I don’t believe it was intermittent. Spent a good 10 hours troubleshooting before calling Brandt and the tech managed to find that after a few hours… We did have the main harness on left side when you pop the cab get heavy corrosion on the 12V pin on the “water tight” connector as well, and it was extremely intermittent but that was causing the machine to shut off.
