Next question is, can you get neutral? If you still have reverse with the gear selector in neutral, probability is that reverse clutch is packed up so when you go to forward you have both forward and reverse clutch engaged so machine locks up. If that test doesn't show anything, start checking pressures. Assuming that you have a power shift transmission.

Check shift linkage for wear and adjustment, also trans mounts, sounds like forward at your shifter isn't getting to transmission valve fully, worn linkage or mounts could be moved enough by shaking machine to take up the difference and fully engage fwd at the valve.
it is a hydrostatic pump that drives the machine back and forward.i have changed the hi lo back and forward switch and connectors on the pump
ive seen issues with the seals/orings on the relief valves on the hystat motor (IIRC)
