we have a JD 544G that intermittently wont shift forward or reverse in cold weather, doesnt matter which gear or how much you rev it, like it stays in neutral. any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Mine did the same thing this morning. Been running about 45 mins and still wont shift into gear. About 10 degrees F here right now. Did you figure it out?
Neutralizer switch out of adjustment or bad? under floor at break pedals?
We have this same issue currently. Started last winter/spring then worked fine all summer, now it's doing the same thing. Anyone find a cause?
After finding a wiring schematic that someone linked on this forum, we were able to determine that only one of our 2 switches in the "F-N-R" selector was functioning. I thought it was a temp issue, but I'm more leaning towards it being a moisture/condensation problem in the shifter itself. Found a new aftermarket direct replacement (less than $400) and installed it while it was still cold out. Been working flawlessly since.
