544K 6068HDW fuel rail leak

heymccall · 2021-09-07 18:59

My 12k hour Tier IV interim (no DEF) loader sprang a fuel leak here where magnet is, only at high throttle Took adapter out and find no seals. Looked like this How does it seal? Do I need new adapter or whole rail?

Metal to metal sealing, no gasket/ring/seals. It's a coin toss as far as what to replace (rail - $1700, damper - $275). Was it tight on disassembly. If so then maybe the threads have a crack? With such high pressures you could have a crack that is not visible yet opens up under pressure. If the seat in the rail looks good it would be a lot cheaper to try a damper.

Any body know what the torque spec is.?? U GOTTA torque it back down.. To tight and you’ll crush the sealing surface and to loose it’ll leak..

Ordered rail. Looks to come with adapters installed. Thanks for the responses.
