a friend has a 580 e that lost drive he said, he also said a lot of oil came out of the breather and could smell a burning smell. im thinking its the t/c that is damaged but should I be looking anywhere else aswell regards
The oil coming from the breather is a concern. Has it lost reverse as well as forward? Does the oil level drop on the dipstick when started? Does the trans cut out still work? - Try to disconnect the wires at the solenoid. Does the driveshaft spin at all? In neutral? In fwd/rev? Is the transaxle 4 speed in gear? (not the first time someone has done this...)
all I know is that it was loosing oil from the breather and he could smell something burning in forward and and reverse as if the t/c slipping, iwill head out there and check to see if t/c or gearbox next week just needed a little heads up on what to expect or common problems, regards
