Restoring my husbands case 1972 extendahoe, been able to fix all the cylinders and a couple of hoses, working with it a lot, runs good, (no brakes!) NOW the worst has happened, hoses to extendahoe blew out, a real mess, been searching net, getting ideas how to go about fixing without hiring the mobile guy at $200 hr. Anybody done this without taking the whole boom extension etc apart??
honestly I never seen it done without taking the boom apart. Im sure if you repacked a couple cylinders im sure you can do the job your self with a little bit of thinking. Its nice when you have another machine to help you with the boom removal
I did my 580c hoses myself with the help of a tree and some heavy duty ratchet straps. An extra set of hands will speed up the reassembly. Be careful taking boom apart those parts are very heavy and if not supported properly you could get hurt. Search the forum there are some posts that have some good pics of the process.
