Just bought my neighbor's 1971 580ck backhoe with a gasoline engine. It has sat for 6-7 years. Is there any simple way to remove the gas tank? Can't lift it out because of the two line and loader bar across the top of the hood and tank. Can't get it up high enough to clear the 4 tank studs underneath. Can I take these studs out and then replace them after I put it back in? I have the nuts off them and 1 stud did come out because it was frozen on to the bolt stud. I'm really scratching my head on this. Any advice/ideas are appreciated.
Ther is a youtube video on removing the fuel tank from a 580B which is pretty much the same thing so watch it and see if that helps.
