6068t wont start de10 stanadyne injection pump

Motors cranks over good. Lift pressure looks good no air lots of volume. Fuel shut of clicks. Jumped fuel shut off solenoid clicks but no start. No fuel out of any high pressure lines. Had about 12 volt on one wire of fuel shut off solenoid . No power or continuity on other wire but solenoid clicked . any advice would be great.

Did it just quit while it was running, or ran one day and not the next? My first guess would be the pump head seized if the solenoid is working okay.

Are you talking about the solenoid on the back of the pump? If so the voltage to that will vary depending on the rpms the ecu wants to see. The fact that your seeing voltage there is good. The back cover on that solenoid comes off with two 8mm head screws and sometimes there is corrosion in there. Other than that sometime the smallest amount of air in the pump will make you pull your hair out.

sounds like you have it figured out. pull the pump off and have it fixed or swap a new one onto it.

Was running rough babied for a little while shut off no restart. They Changed fuel filters starter and batteries. I didn't have any wire info took rear part of pump off till I got to plunger tried manually pushing fuel plunger still no high pressure Fuel. Also jumped power and ground solenoid clicked no high pressure fuel.

Okay was getting nervous about putting pump on with out knowing about electrical. Even though had customer convinced I new what I was doing ... Thanks guys really don't have any rotary fuel pump experience but like always no better time to learn to swim then when your sinking

Sounds like it's the pump. Have changed a lot of those over the years they are not very reliable.

On these rotary pumps, an open injector or in my case one that blew the tip off will keep it from building pressure to fire the other injectors. You can't use the old method of cracking each injector line to narrow it down because the injector pump doesn't have a pump for each cylinder. It's just a pressure pump. This happened on a 200C LC excavator. I can't remember for sure if this is the same pump but it sounds very familiar. Deere used about 6 or 7 different injector pump setups on this engine in the same application. If its the same pump as mine, that solenoid doesn't get 12V to it, the voltage is varied by the computer...so be sure not to jumper 12V to it. I'm talking about the one on the back of the pump like Deere Tech mentioned.

So how do you test these solenoids thanks

You don't.. If it wont start or is throwing codes for the timing event is low.. u pull it off & get another one.. BUT>> U MUST TIME IT FIRST.!!!

    Do you mean replace pump
