624G dash/gages

Looking at one. Someone took out oem cluster. They have 4 gages in place. Been running it like that since they bought it in 16’ works perfect. Question is would this still have to be connected to the oem cluster for the machine to run and communicate with the ecm or whatever it is? Could they have this cover with gages over top of what’s left of the oem cluster? No idea what happened and why it’s like this. I know a new oem is like 2500. Just wasn’t sure if they would’ve had to splice wires and what not to make it run like this or if it Simply doesn’t have to be plugged in this is what’s there now

Hard to say if the original monitor wiring is intact, installer may have run their own wires for this custom guage cluster. The original monitor had an engine oil pressure light only so the engine oil pressure guage wiring for sure would be different. I would not consider trying to put back to original as who knows what other issues could have been going on besides just the monitor itself.

I was wondering if the oem cluster was simply removed would the machine run without jumping wires around

I would say yes based on info from manual below. . Electronic Monitor Signals Circuit Operational Information The display monitor is a microcomputer controlled display unit to indicate the status of machine functions. The monitor controls only the lights and displays on the front of the unit. It does not cause any machine operation to occur.

Love the Cat gauges. That cluster is probably better than anything Deere could have done.
