755 Crawler Loader

anthony101 · 2022-11-11 13:20

Need some help from you guys. I just purchased a 755 loader , going to do a fluid change in everything, The Operator's Manual says to use 30wt in final drives and splitter drive, but the Technical Manual says to use GL-5 80w-90 gear oil in them. Which is correct? The schedule Maintenance sticker on the machine is completely faded out. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

Would probably help if you listed which particular 755 you have and a serial number.

You might just have a point. John Deere 755 and for the Serial number tag is gone.

My quick service specs book from 2001 for a 755B shows the final drives using 80W-90 ,and the splitter box using SAE 30 .

While you’re at the splitter box, check for any play in the u-joints on the 2 transmission driveshafts. When the u-joints break those shafts like to beat the pump housings to death in a heartbeat.
