769C wheel nut

YukonHillbilly · 2024-09-26 22:41

i have the service manual for our 769c units and i can't find anything in them for a possible wheel nut torque spec. for years these guys have just been hammering the snot out of them with the 1" impact method but now these things are having a hard time staying snug at all. unfortunately my boss is too cheap to get new studs and lugs since i'm sure they are all stretched out but if anyone happens to know the torque that would be a huge help. i would at least give it a try and see if they hold. don't want to get to the point of tightening and tack welding each one of them yet...

Apply a light coating of oil on the face of the washers and the threads inside the nuts. Torque for nuts ... 1205 ± 55 N·m (890 ± 40 lb ft) HINT: Look in the specifications section.
