How much fuel, on average, would an 80 ton rough terrain crane use per an 8 hour day making extremely heavy lifts?
Good question . This Grove 880 shows a 72 Gallon fuel tank . http://www.manitowoccranes.com/~/me...duct Guides/RT880E-Product-Guide-Imperial.pdf I would think they would speck the fuel tank size for a full shift . At least 10 to 12 hours .
We would typically burn 3/4 to a full tank in a 12 hr shift with normal stoppages for breaks ,lunch, lift plans on high production - heavy (50-70% by chart) lifts in winter where we would never shut off.
Should probably say that was on RT890e (90 ton) with QSB6.7
15-60 gallons a day, we used to send a 750 Gal tank out for a good erection job and fill all the welders, gradall, and crane from it. The fuel supplier would fill it once weekly
if you average about 15-20 gallons a day that would be more than enough
