Now the friggin battery light is on Have 28 volts at the alternator stud and batteries both test good. Any ideas?
Have someone operate machine while you test voltage at alt. Measure voltage while the key is in the run position with the engine off and when it is running. You should see voltage increase with the engine running. Voltage increase means the alt is charging. Lower voltage when the engine is off means the alt is connected to the battery. Check the R terminal on the alt. It has a frequency coming out and controls the alt light. The R terminal voltage can be simulated by taking system voltage and contacting the R wire in pulses. If the wire is connected this will turn the charge/alt light off. The R frequency is used for many things by the computer. Later Bob
What do you have across the battery terminals with the engine running a couple of seconds after you've just started it up..? I'll send you the electrical schematic .......
