950K arm float system

Paul Six ยท 2014-07-20 07:22

We have a CAT 950K on rent without operator working to handle waste on a concrete floor , we need to return the bucket blade ( Hardox 400 ) in average every 185 hours , is it possible to lock the bucket on float mode to avoid the several operators to push too hard on the blade

If they cant figure out how to do the job without putting excess wear and tear on things....fire them. I mean really, how hard is it for them to push it into the float position?

What kind of material are you working in if it wears out a cutting edge in under 200 hours? Guess we have it easy with the soft limestone here as we get around 2,000 on a 980K set of edges. Agree sounds like operator needs training unless product is truly that abrasive.

I think he's working in a garbage transfer station . all the loaders around here in transfer stations use thick rubber cutting edges it also help's from wearing out concrete floor and squeegee's it cleaner

Yes the machine is working in garbage transfer station , it is rented without operator so we can not really control them , what kind of rubber do you use , can you tell me who is selling it , i can have a try and import the product from the US

I don't have a transfer station but there is one next door to my yard. I have seen at least two different types one was old tires cut into like triangles and bolted together to from a long strip and bolted on the edge don't know the brand .the other is solid rubber molded to a piece of flat steel that's bolted to loader edge SETCO solid tires sells these the also sell solid tires for loader's used in your application www.setcosolidtire.com rubber cutting edge
