951c cooling system lower radiator hose coupling at the pump

caterpillar 951c serial 86j2427 Trying to figure out a part number for the lower radiator hose that comes from the pump down to the bottom of radiator i would assume as i cant see in that far yet. It looks like a coupling maybe that connects the hose to the water pump unless theyre isnt a coupling and then its just the hose has a pinhole it sprays out of the hose area going down from the water pump and i dont have a cooling system parts diagram to see if its a coupling or just the hose itself. Anyone know if i can get to it thru the side cover or if i have to pull all the metal outsides and remove radiator to do the job. Thanks for any help.

update, I got it apart and it is just a 4 inch long connecting boot that connects a hardpipe from bottom of radiator to the pump

34 6D-6289 Clamp 2 35 2S-6661 Hose 4" Note the 4" is the length, hose is 3" ID and sold by the inch Or should I say that's what it says on SIS but that might be old information on the "sold By" dimension! Also you probably are going to have to remove the flange off the lower tank unless you are planning on removing the water pump. The flange gasket is 3S6251 if you are going to get it from Cat. But also easy to just cut one from good gasket material from a part house. Also note that I would try to get good heavy duty radiator hose especially if planning on using the original style hose clamps with the bolt. I don't think they will work with lighter duty "automotive" radiator hose that tends to be thinner.

Thank you, hopefully cat has a piece of hose this size or bigger that i can cut down. Its literally just a piece of radiator hose basically maybe 4 or 5 inches long i can get it in and out without taking either out i think so no real harm done except for 6.5 gallons of antifreeze down the drain :< Can i just open the radiator .. fill it up start it leave cap off until thermo opens up and keep adding just like a normal car or truck filling?? \

You might get lucky and be able to fight the old hose out and a new one in but I would not want to bet on it. You say 6.5 gallons of antifreeze down the drain? Is that because it has leaked out or did you not put a bucket under the machine and open the drain valve with a hose connected to it? In the picture I uploaded #31 is the drain valve and #32 is the hex head you turn to open it. There is a threaded hold in the bottom of #31 you can screw a pipe fitting in and attach a hose to get it out from under the machine. Forget if it's 1/2 or3/4 inch pipe threads.

I was able to get the old one without removing anything but it was pretty wore out. Im hoping with some white lithium ill be able to squeeze the new one back in as well. 6.5 gallons down the drain as in i didnt know i even had a leak until i came back out and heard dripping and noticed that antifreeze was pouring out under the loader. It pretty much dumped it all out being the lower hose had that hole in the boot. Im going to give the old college try to get the new stiff boot back in. Hopefully a little heat to warm it up and the grease and ill be able to finagle it back in

I don't think grease would bother natural rubber, but you may want to use a silicone grease like Super Lube just to be safe.

Good call. I think im goin to try to flat the bottom and top edge together with some vice grips bring it in from the back of it so that both back lips top and an bottom are on the tubes then release the grips and it should squeeze on both ends same time.. Thats the theroy anyway will see, It will probably end up being 4 hours of cursing out back and then taking off the lower tube heh.

Seems like a lot of work to save removing 3 little bolts, but then I don't know how easy access is for them. Basically the same set-up on an old 966C was not too bad.

Do your best to keep the grease off the outside of the hose and your hands.

Update I was able to get it on without any grease whatsoever. I was able to slide it down on the lower tube the bend with plyers and force it on some slight prying and pop goes the weasel.
