Im looking at a 955k serial number 71J1168, i believe its a grey market machine and has a D330 engine. Im looking for info regarding this loader and year make.
It was built in 1969 for Japanese market. I don't know if it is truly a grey market machine. Hopefully someone that knows more will chime in. FWD
Not a grey market machine. 71J is the Jap built equivalent of 85J U.S. builds.
Getting parts for it should not be difficult, but with one caveat. 71J is not shown in the Cat oinline parts system. If you go into a dealer they'll probably just look blank when you give them the machine S/N. So long as you have some sort of a Parts Manual so that you can ask for parts by P/No you should be fine. The Cat Publication reference for an early 71J machine like yours is UMX00085. $115 for a pdf or CD, $136 for a paper version.
