so the old bobcat s185 was runnin great. shut it off. wouldnt start again. waited hour. it eventually started. LOTS of oil coming out of muffler. shut it off. now there it sits.
Turbo is out.
i did notice that little shut off switch solenoid in back does not seem to be moving. not sure how it started with that in the off position.
The fuel solenoid will not move until the crank position of the key switch.
at first glance the dealer said the head is cracked. this would be the 3rd head in 9000 hours. im beginning to be happy i bought the jcb instead of a new bobcat. i hate to stick another 3k in the old girl, but we kinda need it around, and it would be at least 15k to replace it; and we just spend 40k on the jcb so...
The head cracks because the engine has been repeatedly over heated.
i think the head cracks and then it overheats on this particular unit. i know this time it had not overheated. the first 2 times it did overheat multiple times and we could never figure out why. it was just random. i do not know y they would have the auto shut down rigged so once that kicks in your head is already cracked.
