Chris, The prices may simply be a reflection of the market. If I'm reading that right the RC100 is in the UK. Otherwise the price may be a reflection of the hours relative to undercarriage maintenance. There is literally dozens of pages of information on CTL/MTL in this forum...and whilst the negative side always seems to get well highlighted I can tell you two things about CTL undercarriages 1) it depends on the operator 2) despite the moaning and complaining...I've yet to meet an operator who would want to go back to wheels. The treatment of the machine under its previous owner is the key, all the same, I wouldn't go 2nd hand without a good budget ready for some undercarriage maintenance.

Hey thanks. i agree 100%. my dad has had his own corporation for over 8 years now and i have only rented one with wheels. 99.9% of the time we get tracked machines. so iv had a few years on them and would never go back. i was just un sure of the prices on them being from the uk and buying over seas. Ill contact them this week and try and get more info.

For starters thats noy a uk phone number! Id say stay clear! The other thing is its very rare to see johndeere dozers, backhoes etc in the uk, And even rarer to see center mount back hoes!!

man i wish i could find prices like that here in canada. I mean $10,000 for a 06 t190 with 1200 hrs is unheard of unless the machine is beat to !#$& and even then it would be a good deal.

you guys should just watch the local auctions, I just saw a 2006 bobcat with 430 hours go for $650 us dollars in michigan. If I would have known it was going to go that cheap I'd of snatched it up just to resell it.

My openion, stay away from this, if you want you can check ironplanet.com and some times you can find some good equipments there, it is an auction company but sometimesyou really can get good deals.

QUOTE=Chris's Outdoor;219182]Auctions sound like the way to go[/QUOTE] Craigs list locally is your best bet , out of all the brands on the market i would make sure you stick with a brand you have a dealer that can get you parts quickly! I own a JCB 1110t , there is a dealer in brentwood NH and watertown ma. parts are not cheap but they can get them if they dont have it. Track machines are the best for moving dirt hands down , they are not cheap to run like a machine with tires. tires last on average 350~500 hours depending on the person running the machine and conditions its run in. example landscape company use tire skidsteers on pavement to plow and install plantings (best for this type machine) average tire cost $140 each + install and extras track machine 800~1400 hours on one set of tracks . Life varies widely with use and operator more so with tracks. Cost varies more due to the size of the tracks . good OEM quality tracks can run from $1200 each to allmost $ 2500 each , along with the cost of the tracks you have idlers and roller that mostlikely will need replaceing ...... track machines dont like sharp stuff like demo work or blasted out ledge , running a track machine on pavement or other hard surface will shorten the life of the tread quickly (small amount of sand on a hard surface can help a good amount on tread life on both tires and tracks) Track machines in loose soil, sand or mud out class a tire machine by so much its not even fair to compare . a tire machine will mostlikely get stuck in beach sand or mud and not be able to do any work. track machines have no issues up to the point where they get high center on the belly pan . take some time and watch videos on utube of machines at work , great way to figure out what type of machine to buy. Case , Cat for tire machines are my first choice Cat "C" then B model track machine , then Takahuchi track machines
