A short video from the nearby open pit mine shows a bit of a dispute between the D11 operator and the Rock Truck driver concerning who has the right of way well dumping and dozing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K9B3NBIocuY&list=UUBDziNm8KrCQ4j3sv7ozXeA

That wasn't even a close call IMO.

Agreed not a close call but the dozer did end up getting a bit wobbly getting out of the way.

Why didn't the dozer operator back all the way out the first time? You could see he saw the truck, they don't use radios to communicate?

    That's pictou county for you!

Radios yes. Whether they're used is another matter. They shut the machines down for breaks and lunch and I've seen/heard (from 200 feet up the hill) the drivers parked side by side yelling at each other to carry on a conversation. There might be some hearing problems within the ranks.

Our rules state a WORKING dozer, or grader has the right of way over everything including loaded haul trucks. But we usually yield to them mostly cuz they are bigger and get in the way lol.

Any mine I've ever worked on EVERYTHING gives way to a loaded haul truck.

Yeah not here for some reason. It's in our SOP's for pit drivers license.
