no hole in the sidewall no hole anywhere but tube is trashed cause i drove on it to long flat and ripped the valve stem looks more like a tear about three inches up from the rim edge oh well
Check the rim for rust. I just went thru that. Had to have the tire removed off the rim. Sand blasted it and repaint. No more problem.
You can patch a valve stem if you want to. Add a new one in a new spot and patch the old hole, or if the brass stem is still attached to the rubber but just mangled, solder a new stem to the old one. Do it quick and use a wet rag for a heat sink.
Well, sure as hell, I should of never posted what I did. Had to deal with a flat this morning.
Looks like it may have had a tiny wrinkle in the tube when it was installed........
wrinkle ?? how ? tires not my specialty what did i miss
When the tube is inflated it can have a wrinkle where it's folded over itself against the tire. That's why you fill the tire to seat the bead, then release the air pressure, then fill it up again. To give the tube a chance to work out the wrinkles. If that was folded over on itself you'll be able to see it in the chalky surface of the tube, and it will probably hold the shape of the fold too. I can't tell from here?
That's one of the reasons they always insisted on a new tube with a new tire, the tube as manufactured is smaller than the hole it will fill, the talc on it helps it slide as it expands inside the tire.
