Anyone here able to help me?

guys, I own a phone and computer repair shop.. A client brought me a control unit for a sumitomo excavator (photos attached) The issue is that it wont display the rear camera to the operator We tested a different control unit in the excavator and it worked fine so we have determined its a motherboard fault in this one its ~€4000 to replace the unit so ideally we want to fix this one the problem is I have no access to schematics for this and cant find anything about it online.. its probably something as easy as swapping a chip but I cant do anything until i know what chip does what.. Does anyone here have any recommendations as to what i should do next? As you can imagine im feeling a but out of my depth on this one.. an iPhone screen i can do just fine but excavator repairs are new to me!

Its going to be impossible to get a schematic. Have you googled the Part # of the board you need? Is it a Sumitomo OEM part or a different manufacturer? Also..........I see no pics attached of what you need.

your photos didnt attach to the message. -very unlikely Sumitomo would release schematics of the board to anyone, much less its probably a custom chip or array on there that has an issue and you can't get that chip. You might try looking for a blown diode or rectifier in the I/O section if you can identify them on the board..The age of repairable PC boards as you probably know is fast coming to a close and now its all disposable boards as they are made with SMD pick and place robots, not even old skewl thru-hole technology like yesteryear. Even with a microscope and all the hot-air technology to work on the PC boards its a crap shoot..I read you are in the computer repair business, but can you not get another used board to work in its place? One other thing to consider is the liability of working on a customer's machine control board and releasing it back to them..any incidents could cause you to be named in a suit regardless if the board caused it or not..I didnt make it nor break it but I'd send that job back..no touchy for me FWIW

Hi, If you are asking about the ecu board schematics i think it will be difficult to find out. May be not available it even in the internet as well. As per my knowledge the best thing you can do is finding a wiring diagram for that excavator and finding the relevent pin for that camera line from the ecu and from that, finding relevent paths and components of the pcb. If schematic not available for the machine, you can physically trace the relevent wiring line from that camera to the ecu and find the relevent pin. Also, you can check the correct reqired voltage signal or other parameters that should be available at the camera, if you can install the working control unit and check again. If the machine's all the functions works fine instead of this camera, we can assume that all the required inputs available to the ecu to process the required out put signals. From that you can work and check only on that particular path and relevent areas to that camera line on the pcb.

What was the issue? I am having similar problems with a Stanley controller in a jcb js150.
