apprentice, will work for experience

hello guys. i live in southeastern mass. wanted to know if anybody on here was local and willing to trade labor for experience i have had operators license for 1yr and everybody i contact about job that says they are hiring says not good enough :Banghead so i figure maybe someone here has some helpful info.any help greatly appreciated :notworthy

    Work with a shovel till they will be willing to try you in a machine.

    Newbie, Not in your area but here's a thought. In Ks we can look at the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) bidding information. If you can look at the Mass. DOT bidding info and results with a little studying you could figure out where some bigger jobs were going to be before they started. On bigger jobs at the very start is the easiest time to get hired. I would think that an employer would look favorably at a young person who came in looking to be hired on a job that hadn't started, and that the employer was going to need help on. Good luck Kent

    I can see both sides of it. Paying somone 16 bucks an hour whose got some experience, know quite a bit , is better off then training somone and paying 10 an hour. Also, the problem many employers face is they spend time paying somone training them ie paying you to learn when you reallly arent all that productive, and then when you fianlly get to know what your doing, you leave, many employers ahve gotton burned too many times and cant afford to do it anymore.
