Hi guys, Im new here. Just blew the V3800 kubota engine in my 2022 Takeuchi TL12V2. The block and head are both warped to the point of no return. Wondering if anyone has any recommendations on remanufactured long block kubota engines? A new engine from the dealer is $40k so Im looking for different avenues. Thanks for any help guys!
Did you try googling Kubota V3800? There was a place selling rebuilt Kubota's for a reasonable price but I can't remember the name. Maybe Loader Parts Source?? You could check on Machinery Trader under dismantled machines and might find a good core or even a decent running engine. $40K seems like the dealer is gouging you pretty bad for a 4 cylinder engine.
Thanks for the reply. Ive google it and there are lots of reman companies to pick from, was hoping someone here had personal experience with one of them. I saw some scary customer reviews on the LPS website regarding their remaned engines. Also checked the dismantled machines on machinery trader but hit a dead end with those unfortunately. I appreciate the ideas!
There is a place in Connecticut, that all they do is reman Kubota engines. Around here, they advertise on CL and Facebook. Might want to take a look. I have had good luck with LPS for parts and stuff but have had better luck with Friday Parts for heads and rebuild kits.
I've had good luck with a drive motor from LPS. There was someone on here years ago ranting about LPS not giving warranty or credit for a core on a drive motor or something. LPS responded that they need to receive a core within a certain time and that the customer shouldn't take anything apart as it will void coverage. The guy not only took the thing apart but was also late sending it to them. LPS's policy is clearly written in the agreement that this customer obviously didn't read. I'm sure some people have had issues with LPS that may be legit but if they were really bad they wouldn't stay in business very long.
Just for kicks I checked ebay, there's a used one there for $4800. It's in California so shipping shouldn't be as bad as from the east coast. That's a whole lot less than $40K!!!
You said you blew the engine. Can you be more specific? Also, have you let a qualified machine shop check it? 40K is a lot of clams.
That will be the V3800CR Tier 4 final. Hp5 denso fuel system. LPS shows one to fit a Kubota svl95-2 (nearly identical) for 27k plus core. . Block and head warped maybe an issue, good thing Kubota does not require destruction on warranty cores, so used cores are readily available. Still, a rebuilt engine will probably be close to 20k
