Getting my 743 ready to repower with a kubota v2203. First thou replaced leaking main hydro seal. Pressure washed & washed and washed Whole engine bay (everything was FILTHY oily dirty ) from years and years of build up. Anyways reinstalled spline adapter with impact on low pressure setting and right a way noticed a crack along the keyway on the spline adapter open up. Surely i didnt cause this with my ghetto harbor freight "earthquake impact". Well $100 later and i have another on the way. Just how tight should i torque this one to? I'm thinking it was already cracked before because it was a total bitch to get the old engine out. The coupler would not let go with extreme force. (as in pulling on the old engine with a tractor chained to it) Im thinking... it being already cracked, it expanded down the tapered pump shaft and expanded into the coupling splines locking the whole damn thing together. Anyways...any ideas how much to tighten the new one down to??
..............so nobody even have a suggestion or best guess?
well talked to hydraulic pump and motor rebuild service shop. They suggest hand tool tighten only with red loctite.
What is you serial number? I can look it up in the service manual. And email you one .
If you know the bolt size, thread and hardness, you can look it up on a bolt torque table. Just google torque calculator...
