Bobcat 763 hydraulic bog down

milkman64 ยท 2023-11-19 09:25

I have a 763 bobcat, fires right up, idles fine. Let the bucket no problem, but when I lower the bucket it has a weird noise while coming down. When I drive, it runs fine, but when I use the hydraulics while in motion it loses power.

Have to figure out if engine is bogging from lack of fuel, or if something is up with hydraulics bogging down engine. Have your fuel filters been changed. Disconnect outlet of filter and put 1 PSI of air into tank with rag over hole with blow gun. Fuel should just pour out big time out of filter with hose into a pail. Have worked on these but it has been a long time. Not sure where your lift pump or electric pump is . Anyhow need to get good fuel out of filters to feed injection pump. Is air filter clean? It does not take much fuel to start and idle, takes lots to work hydraulics. How many hours? What has been serviced on the unit. Is it Kubota powered. Post some more info. Simon C

I just had a rebuilt engine put in. It doesn't seem to be fuel related. Engine rpms seem to stay high it doesn't want to kill or anything like that. It seems to be in the hydraulics. based on some other forums it sounded like it was the hydraulic pump. replaced that. Still has the same bog down and chatter when operating multiple things. whether it is moving and using the bucket. So anyway all the hydraulic fluid is new. Air filter, fuel filter are all new.

New filters will mean nothing if there is a blockage in the system. You say the engine bogs down or is the hydraulics slow when chattering. What model of engine is it. How much fuel pressure at time of bog down. Did you check hydraulic pressure with gauge at time of acting up? Did any one play with relief valve setting? Throwing more money without testing won't fix. Need to figure out what is failing. Have you changed hydraulic filters and screens cleaned. OEM filters or aftermarket? Lots of questions cause we are not there. Simon C
