did doosan really buy bobcat or was i misimformed
They did. Bobcat is no longer American owned. New E series minis are Doosans.
Not totally true. Only the E60 and E80 are Doosans. Every other "Bobcat" is a Bobcat.
Doosan buying Bobcat is probably not entirely a bad thing. When IR bought Bobcat, the quality went south. IR seemed to only care about Stockholder earnings and not the quality of the Bobcat name. At least Doosan is a heavy equipment manufacturer, among other things. Time will tell.
Dont remember the exact figure, but from memory at the time, the Doosan purchase of Bobcat was the largest in Korean history..
doosan makes some good stuff. i think they should stick doosan engines in bobcats. the local dealer used to sell doosan skid steers, along with new holland. they said the doosan was significantly superior to the new holland.
[ they said the doosan was significantly superior to the new holland.[/QUOTE] Most likely higher profit margins on the units they sell. I dont by into any thing that comes out of a salesmans mouth.............. Not that I like NH skids or Doosan
the guy at the dealership just told me this. they have not been selling doosan skid steers for probably 7 years now. so there would be no reason not to believe him. not to mention i believe him just by looking at new holland and doosan machines from that era. kubota makes a decent engine and all but if you overheat it a little just once, bata bing bata boom, u got a cracked head.
I think it might be good to, doosan has taken daewoo to a new level that i think will challenge anyone in the coming years . We had a DX140LCR with a blade rented and was not in the same catagory as the old DH130 from the 90,s at all.
