hello i just bought a bob cat s175 was wondering what type of motor oil is recommded and how many quarts it takes. also wondering what type of hydrulic fluid is recommened i bought a 55 gallon drum of chevron rando hd iso 46 fluid if that would work if any nows anything about it that would be great thank you aloismarks
15w40 Delo 400 both in the hydro AND the engine - Bobcat S175 do not use "hydraulic fluid" in the hydraulic tank, they use high grade high detergent diesel rated multigrade engine oil! (They do vary the weight range 10w30 15w40 etc. based on the temperature of the environment) I have some Mustang Skis Steers that you can use that ISO46 fluid in!!!
you really need to verify this info.... :drinkup
thank you for your help so your positive i can use this oil in my hydarulics
x2 on info
Local Bobcat dealer service manager indicates factory recommendation changed from 10w30 to 15w40 year 2000. It's for 85-110 temp range (hot here), I'm taking his word that this is what the oil in the bobcat hydraulic oil jug is. What do you think it is???
i have no idea but my equipment ive never use the same oil in motor and hyd. thiers something different everyday
if it's in a sealed jug from bobcat and it says hydraulic oil on it, then its NOT engine oil. around 2005 (or so) bobcat no longer recommends engine oil in the hydrostatic system. engine oil does not have the proper antiwear and corrosion additives, in addition to having even more additives that engines requires.. :drinkup
Older stuff did it, times have changed, oil has changed thats why its best to research everything for your machine and consider things that may have changed and how crucial it may or may not be,
