Anyone have the procedure to tow an S250 Bobcat?
Well there is and there isn't. if you look in the owners manual, bobcat says towing is not recommended but skidding for a short distance is ok.. How far do you need to move the machine is the question ? And what's the soil condition your needing to remove it from? Is the machine running but lost drive or is the machine not able to start?
200 feet half grass half asphalt. Engine is a no start.
The asphalt will be a problem and expect to damage both drive motors. Huge invoice. Been there done that a few times. Pays well. And those parts can be hard to source at the moment. Or, lift and carry it with a loader w/forks. Or, try to get it running where it sits. That’s something I don’t like about the Bobcat product. Recovering a dead one is a huge PITA.
Skid the tires across the grass to the edge of the asphalt and hire a roll back to winch it up on the deck. Or figure out why the engine is a no start and fix that.
Had a Ruff situation once where I jacked up machine and slid a piece of 3/4 ply wood under it then blocked wheels with a 2x4 and screws. Made a sled so to speak the drug it out with a chain. Do you know what's causing or might be causing you no start issue ? Like coaldust said smoking some motors is not good. Might be worth getting a tech out to at the very least diagnose it and maybe you could take it from there.
Pull the park brake solenoid out and it will roll
Ehhhh. Not really true. Pulling traction lock solenoid allows the brake disks to rotate however it does nothing about the drive motors. Your still forcing them to rotate against there will. That's why it does not say remove traction lock and tow machine. They boldly put the warning in manual so when you do that you pay for that.
True. That was my mistake. I was thinking of when people pull the solenoid for a wiring issue and it free rolls while running.
