New here...we recently picked up an 06 T190 w/ standard controls. Noticed the bucket tilt pedal sticking a bit and thought it was some dirt around the bottom of the pedal or just something in the linkage that needed adjusting or greasing...after cleaning out and checking all the fittings it still sticks and subsequently the bucket will continue to draw back and stay stuck in this position if you are paying attention. Bobcat service repair shop said it may be a cracked control valve that's causing the hydraulic arm to get caught when it's pushed in. Just needed some insight on how to trouble shoot this further. I figured if the control valve was cracked we would see hydraulic fluid on the undercarriage somewhere...correct? The controls work you just have to watch it sometimes b/c you'll have to stop it from tilting back up...thanks!
Welcome to HEF bcone. :drinkup Not sure why Bobcat service suspects cracked control valve causing spool to stick. Never seen it, so I can't say it's not possible, but I'd be scratching my head figuring out how a crack can stick a spool. Since the bucket tilt control is having the problem, a more likely problem would be something awry with the float detent jamming the bucket tilt up. I'd remove the centering spring cap on the back of the bucket tilt spool, then gently check movement of spool in and out of control valve. You may have to remove the spool from the control valve and take float detent apart. Here's a thread that shows the location of the centering spring caps on rear of control valve, the one you need to look at is the one with the E clip on the rear of it. Be sure and remove the E clip before pulling that cap off. Sorry, I don't have any pics or info on taking the float detent apart. HeavyEquipmentForums
Thanks so much willie59. I'll look through the attached post and see if that fixes the problem. Have a great weekend my friend!:usa
having same problem with tilt control not lifting. peddle works fine, heel down and returns to center ok. toe down and peddle is soft and doesnt snap back. will be taking the block in back of the control block tomorrow. will continue saga soon. suspect something to do with the tilt centering spring or parts nearby.
control spool with the e clip on the back is the lift spool (lower one). dont take the e clip off unless you want to look for 2 small ball bearings and a tiny spring somewhere away from where you are working.
