Can anyone advise on a joystick problem. When the left joystick is pushed forward the bobcat dies
Dealer and money. Selectable joy sticks? Around 13 to 1500 to fix. I'm guessing electronic controls, don't know if they make the manual ones on the 300. I've had some problems on my s220.
Does it die like it is under a strain? Or does it error out and die?
error out and dies
Does it do the same thing in reverse?
Thanks for your help. It does not die in reverse. When you push the left joystick forward, it dies with alarm sound and error code (38-53) Warning (AWS/SJC left forward drive solenoid error off)
Hey, worked at bobcat for a bunch of years, most of the time when that error code pops up its the electronic slave solenoid that's on the spool valve itself, You'll see there's two of them, one for each side, easiest way to check is to unplug them both and plug left into right and right into left,
thank YOU VERY MUCH CAN an average mech change this part without special tools and can I buy this from bobcat
If you've tested them by switching them you should see that the units just unbolt and slide off, And yes you can order them from bobcat, they will probably have them in stock .. Test them first and make 100% that it is your problem, as they are expensive!
We did switch the solenoids and wow what a party that is to operate the machine.LOL The machine does not die. We think because of cold weather the solenoid is not heating up enough. Tomorrow we will switch them back and run the bobcat until it shuts down and then switch them in the opposite position and see if it shuts down when pushing the right joy stick forward vs. the left. The machine will run and operate fine for the 1st few minutes (maybe 15) and then when you would push the left joy stick forward it would just die. Very frustrating, but thanks so much for your help. We will keep you up dated on the repair. Thanks doug Shank
Almost sounds like some lock in the system is not shutting off blocking oil flow.
Mine dies forward. Reverse as well as left or right. Started out doing it in forward only after reaching operational temps 20 mins or so now it’s all positions any idea joystick or solenoid it is a T 300 Bobcat 2009 model
if you have the same error code , it's wiring problem on EDC controller on pump. as the wire internally broken, when it's cold, the wire cover, hold the electric connection. when the wire cover get hot, it lose the electric connection. no need to change part, just pull the wire, you will see it come off. then repair it.
I cked all wires before posting except the last 4 inches or so at the solenoid valve. Ran out of time I’ll get back to it ASAP. Thanks for the reply. It was just forward The more I work on it the worse it has gotten lol. Now it’s forward reverse. Left and right
