Who owns or operates one? Do you like it? Are you using the fecon mulcher head made for bobcat?

careful about the door wiring harness if you damage it the forestry cutter wont work bobcats safty aparatus also i have seen 1 guy tweek a bobtach 1/4 on across the entire bobtach and would not hook up to a bucket or anything granted i think he thought it was a dozer and was just plowing through the trees they say you can start at the top of a tree and just bring it down and it will destroy a tree haven't got to take one out and run one but would love to

I can see how someone could damage the wire harness on the front door. Especially if you had to do an emergency exit! Tweaking the engine after the warranty is always an option, maybe. Demo'd one myself yesterday, they do a pretty good job of chewing up 6" trees. Of course smaller stuff is like mowing the lawn. The biggest concern is the fact that the higher you raise the cutter head, the easier it is for the machine to want to tipover! BE Careful!

i was talking to a guy who worked for a company that was drilling a gas well and he said that the forestry cutters are dangerous and that the wood chips get up inside the undercarrage and and can start a fire if you are not careful.it was boke down half the time and they had a truck full of parts just to keep it going.and back to the fire issue they said that their company had lost one skid steer and that there competition had lost 2 because of fire but i will say that it was neat to watch though and that they made quick work or the trees.

They can be dangerous as with any type of equipment. Blowing out the engine compartment and undercarriage with compressed air on a regular basis will prevent fires. An owner/operater will treat his machine with alot more care = Less breakdowns.

You're not going to tip it over with a 2300 lbs mulcher unless you are going fast downhill and slam the boom arms down and come to a complete stop at the same time. You will be well under the ROC and though it feels heavy, the frame will handle it just fine.
