Buying machine for farm

beanfarmer71355 · 2019-04-09 23:00

Have been renting a Komatsu 200 from dealer just about every year for a month and getting most things done, but. That month is crammed into doing things in the mud, while busy with other work, etc, and in addition to the monthly rentals have gotten high. With that said, I am shopping. Little partial to Deere, Komatsu next. Down to two Deere machines, 200D LC 2008 with 6400 hrs and a 240D LC 2010 with 7600 hrs and hyd thumb. Similar money and overall condition, u/c is really good on both and cosmetics are nice. In clearing out treelines, sweet pecans, hackberry, gum and so on, will I really appreciate the 240 over the 200? And in soft ground will the additional weight be a concern? Moving it is a non issue. Have that covered. Thanks

Can’t comment on the machines but the hydraulic thumb would be the selling point for me especially clearing fence rows. John
