Hi everyone , Johnson here from India and this is my first thread in this forum. Am planning to buy an used excavator from china as prices are cheap compared to the market here in India ,i mean even after paying all duties, freight etc. Is there any thread sharing experience of buying an used excavator from china or you can share your views here in this thread. Though they sell latest machines manufactured one or two years back and with less working hours, still i doubt whether they have any major rework done or the condition might be good . What would be the real world scenario
A friend of mine specializes in exporting Sany and XCMG excavators to Africa for mining. These types of machines are typically 1-2 years old. It's the most cost-effective way for Chinese construction site owners to buy new machines to offset taxes and then quickly resell them in Africa after completion.
When buying anything used or even new from another country you need to put eyes on the asset you intend to purchase. Best would be your own eyes and next best could be someone in country that you trust. I have witnessed several instances over the years of misrepresentations, counterfeits, stolen properties and just plan fraud and theft of moneys with no possible avenues of recourse. Buyer beware!
Is there any such thing as reliable 3rd-party inspection services in China? Going there to see with mine own eyes would be great for reality TV, but not gonna happen in my current reality. 20 years ago I bought a gray-market CAT from an auction house in Japan. In that setting, the auction-house had their own inspectors, and for cultural reasons I tended to trust the inspector's reports, as they weren't all rubber-stamped as being in A+ condition - and because Japanese are generally culturally more honor-bound than many late-stage capitalist Chinese seem to be (call that racist if you like, but many Chinese people agree with me on the increased need for caveat emptor when working sight-unseen with Chinese vendors.) So in 2005, I got pretty much what was advertised from Japan, warts and all. But those Japan auctions these days? It's like they never noticed that the internet changed everything, still all kinds of early-2000's impediments to even bidding. I told them how badly they'd slipped behind, knowing they wouldn't care, and moved along. That said, I haven't specifically checked to see whether Japanese vendors are represented on Alibaba these days...
