i`ve been conned in to swapping cabs on a med duty 99 gmc 6500 which has a 6 spd push button auto.trans & a 3126 cat. the doner truck also a 99 had same motor but had a cable shifted auto.trans . my question is what are the odds of the doner cab having the elect. wiring for the trans included in the harness inside the cab.???

If that... Good possibility the trans harness is separate from the cab harness. But... that depends on whether or not the trans has to communicate with the Body control module or the Engine ECM.

well the 50/50 chance went the wrong way. not a chance of a plug and play.knew i should have went for a look before letting it get bought. only option now is swap entire harnesses from cab to cab or find another one that is not a rust bucket. SO looking for a 99/2000 7500 series cab with the 6 speed allison auto setup
well after much cussin and such that pos headed out again tonite for another go at lifting a crew up to paint some more bridges. hope it stays together. and i did not do the harness change myself not flexible enough for that anymore
